Fed: Lawyer tells Touretski no statement unless charge detailed

A lawyer for suspended swimming coach GENNADI TOURETSKI says his client will not be
making a statement to police until details of banned drug charges against him are made
available.

Canberra lawyer JASON PARKINSON says Mr TOURETSKI has assisted police at all stages
of their investigation into a burglary at Mr TOURETSKI'S home on April 1.

Mr PARKINSON says police arrested two people in relation to the burglary, but he made
no comment in regard to any connection between the burglary and the alleged find of anabolic
steroids in Mr TOURETSKI'S possession.

He told reporters police requested Mr TOURETSKI make a statement in relation to the
alleged possession of steroids.

Mr PARKINSON says Mr TOURETSKI wants to take part in a police interview, but he's been
advised against that until full particulars of the alleged offence are available.

Mr PARKINSON says Mr TOURETSKI maintains his innocence and looks forward to having
the matter heard and determined in the Canberra Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Mr TOURETSKI coaches Olympic medallists MICHAEL KLIM and Russian ALEXANDER POPOV.
